Invocation Magic (Excerpt)
There are many reasons that humans use their voices, but one of the most powerful of all is when we call to higher powers and ask for assistance. This may be a simple “God help me” when you come home and find your dog has protected you from the attack of the pillows and feathers are everywhere to a profound invocation for support with “Oh God!” as you watch something horrific, like the crumbling of the World Trade Center or the touchdown of a tornado.
Invocation is the act of appealing to a higher power for assistance. It must be vocalized - or spoken aloud - in order to summon or conjure the desired result. Thinking about it is different from speaking about it. Thinking about it is, however, precisely where the real magic begins.
The brain is the form-making instrument in the human body. It is the organ of creative magic. When you think of something long enough and strong enough to have a clearly focused idea of what it is you want, and how it will be when you have it, then you already have it. If it exists in the mind, it exists.
The Mental Plane of existence coexists with all the other planes of existence, simultaneously and in layers. Like all the layers of a jawbreaker are there at the same time, but at different levels. To get from the outer layer to the inner layer of a jawbreaker requires time and spit. To get from the lower layer to the middle layers of existence requires awareness. We won’t ever get to the Divine Spark in the middle, but we don’t need to. We have the Divine Spark in the middle, no matter what layer we are on. We just need to remember to honor the Divine in all we do so we are White Magicians.
Black Magicians focus on their own wish life. White Magicians focus on the Will of God, the Divine Plan, and service to humanity. The Magic is the same for both types and purposes. The karma is different. Black Magicians serve the energy of the last age, which supports moving away from the physical matter and toward the spiritual purpose. White Magicians serve the energy of the new age, which supports re-establishing the spiritual purpose into the matter of the physical. The Black finds the material world to be bad and the spiritual world to be good. The White restores the love and understanding of spirit to the material world. Both are powerful. Both are available to you. Both can use this teaching to accomplish their goals with invocation.
Just like the jawbreaker has many layers, so does Creation Magic. These are the planes of existence and layers of energy we will discuss:
1. The Mental Plane of Manasic Energy
- a. Idea(l) Inspiration - Air
- b. Clarity of Light - Earth
- c. Passion and Focus - Fire
- d. Joyous Vibration - Water
2. The Astral Plane of Camamanasic (Lower Mental and Emotion) Energy
- a. Being - Air (Sound)
- b. Time - Earth (Light)
- c. Feeling - Fire (Color)
- d. Doing - Water (Vibration)
3. The Physical Plane of Existence
- a. Breath - Air
- b. Mineral - Earth
- c. Flame - Fire
- d. Fluid - Water
These various planes of existence are part of you - and everything else that IS. The difference between you and most other stuff, however, is that you are possessed of a brain. It is the brain which creates Magic.
Each layer of creation, like the jawbreaker’s creation, requires purpose, clarity, decisions, and persistence. Without purpose, nothing happens. Without clarity, nothing is clear. Without decisions, the many exists, but not the one. Without persistence, what happens doesn’t hold together and vanishes into chaos.
Begin creating Magic on the Mental Plane by thinking of what it is you want to do, be, or have. This can be anything you can imagine, but it needs to involve only you as everyone has free will and you don’t get to choose for them. Here are some suggestions to consider for your first forays into Conscious Creation:
- Getting Fit
- Expanding Career
- Travel
- New Vehicle
- Relocation
- Creative Project
Any of these will work, but to begin your magical practice, choose the one for which you have the least resistance. Don’t choose something you don’t believe you can do. Doubt destroys dreams and aborts magic. Either you believe in yourself or you don’t. If you don’t, you cannot do the magic.
